“I learned to scuba dive in 1995, while deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division as a peace keeper with the Multi-National Force and Observers in the Sinai, Egypt. I have always loved the otherworldly experience of being under water, floating over reefs, through caves, seeing beautiful and exotic animals, while only hearing the sounds of your own breathing. It is a very cathartic experience. Since being wounded in 2008 in Iraq, I have wanted to return to diving, and S.U.D.S. gave me that opportunity. Diving as an amputee was a freeing experience. Under water missing limbs no longer matter and I was able to return to that place where there are no limitations. Thank you to the S.U.D.S. team for all you are doing to help Wounded Warriors.
